Take A Break
(to be sung in eliza schuyler voice)
Hello, dear readers! It has been a time since I last posted, and I’m popping in quickly today to let you know that it will be a time longer until we resume our regularly scheduled programming.
(I realize writing this smacks of “I’m going dark on social media to cleanse my aura” circa 2013, but heaven knows I won’t follow through with this unless I tell someone about it, so here we are.)
Here’s the good news: I started a new role at my organization this week that I am WILDLY excited about, and my long-neglected work-hard muscles are already deliciously sore. I have also finished the course work for my doctoral program and am diving fully into my dissertation research, which is equal parts thrilling and terrifying.
In my heart of hearts, I want to give my all to both of those projects, and keep up the blog, and build my personal essay collection, and poke the bear through advocacy work, and train my body to Valkyrie-level power, and master homemade pasta, and read all the faerie dragon smut this beautiful world has to offer.
Unfortunately, the limits of my human capacity are more “For Good” than “Defying Gravity” these days, and so I must, to continue playing the long game, zoom in a bit to focus solely on work and school for the next few months.
I hope to find some time to write this semester (don’t think I’m not outlining a “how to prioritize your goals” post in the back of my brain while I type this), but I am making no commitments to you, or to myself, regarding regular updates. If you are a paid subscriber and want to switch to the free version in the meantime, I will not be offended in the least.
Thank you, as always, for your loving support, and see you all again soon!
